Chris GyvesChris Gyves (Partner, Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP) advises boards and senior management of public companies on every-day and leading-edge issues in corporate governance, as well as their full spectrum of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. Chris also leads Womble Carlyle’s Public Company Advisors Team, a multi-disciplinary team of attorneys who serve the firm’s public-company clients. Chris successfully advised a public company client through a complete corporate governance turnaround leading to the company being recognized by Corporate Secretary Magazine for outstanding corporate governance.
Walter WIlkinsonMr. Wilkinson is the founder and a general partner of Kitty Hawk Capital, a venture capital firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina. During his career he has helped to start or expand dozens of rapidly growing companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Wilkinson serves or has served as a director of numerous venture-backed companies, both public and private. He currently serves as Lead Independent Director for QORVO (NASDAQ:QRVO) as well as Chairman of its Governance and Nominating Committee and serves on its Compensation Committee. Mr. Wilkinson also serves on the boards of directors of the Gladstone Companies, a group of four NASDAQ ï€ listed public companies (GLAD, GOOD, GAIN, LAND). There he serves on the Compensation, Governance and Ethics, and Valuation Committees. During his career Mr. Wilkinson has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations, and as Chair of several, most of these related to education on industry trade organizations. He has served on the board of the Carolinas Chapter of NACD and is a NACD Leadership Fellow, having completed the NACD’s program for corporate directors and its continuing educational requirements to maintain this level of recognition.
Tom SkainsMr. Thomas E. Skains, also known as Tom, served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Piedmont Natural Gas Co. Inc., from December 12, 2003 to October 03, 2016 and from February 28, 2003 to October 03, 2016 respectively and served as its President from February 28, 2002 to October 03, 2016. Mr. Skains served as the Chief Operating Officer of Piedmont Natural Gas Co. Inc. from February 2002 to 2003. He served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Supply Services at Piedmont Natural Gas Co. Inc. from 2000 to 2002 and served as its Senior Vice President of Gas Supply and Services from 1995 to 1999. Prior to joining Piedmont in 1995, he served as Senior Vice President of Transportation and Customer Service at Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation. Mr. Skains was a Corporate Attorney in Houston. He served as Chairman of the Board at American Gas Association and serves as its Director. He has been a Director of BB&T Corporation since June 2009 and Duke Energy Corporation since October 3, 2016. He has been Independent Director of National Fuel Gas Company since December 8, 2016. He serves as a Director of Gas Technology Institute. He served as a Director of Piedmont Natural Gas Co. Inc. since February 2002 until October 03, 2016. He served as Co-Chairman of American Heart Association Charlotte Metro Heart Walks from 2004 to 2005 and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Arts and Science Council Annual Fund Drive in 2006. Mr. Skains has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Sam Houston State University and Doctorate of Jurisprudence Degree from the University of Houston Law School.
Tim WielechowskiTim Wielechowski is a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Wells Fargo Securities. He has more than 18 years of experience primarily focused on advising companies in the consumer and retail sector. Mr. Wielechowski has closed more than 40 advisory transactions over the course of his career. Public M&A transactions of note include advising Caleres (NYSE: CAL) on its acquisition of Allen Edmonds, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE: KKD) on its sale to JAB Beech, Perfumania Holdings (NASDAQ: PERF) on its acquisition of Parlux, LaCrosse Footwear (NASDAQ: BOOT) on its sale to ABC Mart, Volcom (NASDAQ: VLCM) on its sale to PPR, and RARE Hospitality (NASDAQ: RARE) on its sale to Darden Restaurants. Prior to joining Wells Fargo Securities, Mr. Wielechowski was with Deutsche Bank Securities and he began his career as a corporate and securities lawyer with Kirkland & Ellis. Mr. Wielechowski earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Pittsburgh and a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
