- Parking Instructions for Spectrum Arena – Parking is located in the Center City Green parking deck at 350 E 6th St, Charlotte, NC 28202. The deck is open during construction. To exit the parking deck please take elevators 1 & 2 (in the middle of the deck) down to the Ground Level, take a right when you get off, and walk across 5th street to enter the Spectrum Center. Bring parking ticket with you as you will exchange it at the event for a validated ticket for the Center City Green Parking Deck. (When exiting the deck, there is an Express Exit ramp down to the ground floor exit.)
- Arena Entrance – Please use the 5th street Bank of America Executive Entrance. At the entrance you will go through security and be escorted down to the Crown Club.

John SilviaJohn Silvia is a managing director and the chief economist for Wells Fargo. Based in Charlotte, N.C., he has held his position since he joined Wachovia, a Wells Fargo predecessor, in 2002 as the company’s chief economist. Prior to his current position, John worked on Capitol Hill as senior economist for the U.S. Senate Joint Economic Committee and chief economist for the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. Before that, he was chief economist of Kemper Funds and managing director of Scudder Kemper Investments, Inc. John served as the president of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) in 2015 and was awarded a NABE Fellow Certificate of Recognition in 2011 for Outstanding Contributions to the Business Economics Profession and Leadership Among Business Economists to the Nation. For the second time in three years, he was awarded the best overall forecast by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, as well as the best unemployment rate forecast for 2011. John is on the Bloomberg Best Forecast list for his forecasts of GDP, the ISM manufacturing index, housing starts, and the unemployment rate.

Mel SchwarzMel Schwarz is a Partner and the Director of Tax Legislative Affairs in Grant Thornton’s National Tax Office. Mel has primary responsibility for the design and presentation of the firm’s tax legislative initiatives, for monitoring tax legislative activity on behalf of the firm and its clients, and serves as a technical resource on manufacturing tax issues, the individual and corporate alternative minimum tax, and credit and incentive programs. Mel has over 33 years of federal income tax experience, including 30 years in Washington, D.C., six of which were spent on the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation.
Phil WellingtonPhil is responsible for managing all sourcing operations, driving their e-commerce strategy and building their direct sourcing business at publicly traded (NASDAQ: PINC) Premier Healthcare Alliance, a leading healthcare improvement company with more than $1 billion in revenue, uniting an alliance of 3,400 hospitals and 110,000 other healthcare providers. Phil began his career at Booz Allen. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from The University of Florida, with a concentration in Finance, Security Analysis, and Competitive Strategy. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgetown University. He is also an avid football [soccer] player and fan.
Friso van der OordDirector of Research, National Association of Corporate Directors
Experience: 15 years of management consulting and research experience in governance, risk, compliance and integrity. Friso worked for the CEB (the Corporate Executive Board) where he led research practices serving heads of audit, risk management and compliance of large, global companies. He has a Masters in International Relations from John Hopkins University and University of Amsterdam, Masters in Contemporary History and American Studies. Friso has lived in the Netherlands, Italy, Bosnia Herzegovina, United States (Washington DC, Los Angeles and New York City) and is a passionate football[soccer] fan.
